2016 KSCLS / Wheatlands Chapter, CLMA Annual Meeting

Hilton Garden Inn - Manhattan, KS

April 26 – 27, 2016

Preliminary Program Notes:                             Updated:  March 7, 2016

The PACE©-approved program is shaping up nicely as we count down to the meeting in Manhattan.

There will be lots of topics that will allow you to earn up to 14 hours of continuing education credit during the two days of 3 simultaneous sessions. The sessions will start at 8 am and conclude at 5 pm each day at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Tuesday will begin with a keynote address about the National Biodefense Facility being built in the area.  From there, one could attend a leadership session, a CLIA update, Zika, robotic surgery, Lean and Six Sigma, blood product pathogen inactivation, and several other topics still being confirmed. Tuesday is the day we hope to see lots of students.  At lunch both organizations will recognize some students with scholarships and members for their various contributions. Our friends from industry will be joining us to share the latest in laboratory technology in the exhibit hall both days of the conference.

After the sessions, a vendor reception will provide the opportunity for everyone view the vendor exhibits,  to relax and visit with old and new friends.  The KSCLS Board meeting will be Tuesday evening following the vendor reception.

To kick off Wednesday morning, early birds are invited for a 6:30 am stroll around the area (probably about a mile).  Join us if you would like.

Wednesday will again begin with a keynote (TBA), and be followed with CPT coding updates, hematology and Blood Bank case studies, lab marketing to schools, GC Mass spec information, sepsis, chemical hygiene plan, bioidentical hormones, etc.

We are still firming up the program, but we are confident that you will find some great sessions to attend. It be published on the organizations’ websites when it  is all confirmed.  Looking forward to seeing you in Manhattan.
